Of all my previous experiences studying abroad, the time I spent at the University of Mannheim is one of the most unique and unforgettable. Nothing beats the experience of studying in the baroque castle with world-class faculty members. The university does live up to the reputation of being the #1 business school in Germany.

Prior to joining an exchange program, I had doubts about coming to Mannheim. I knew nothing about the city nor could I speak German- I did not know if I would enjoy. As it turned out, these unknowns play an important role in putting me on the new trajectory, and I ended up having the most eye-opening and amazing five months.

Three important things that contribute to the memorable experience at Mannheim are the VISUM community, an opportunity to travel across Europe, and the support from Ekkehard Foundation.

The VISUM community is very supportive. The university connected me to my VISUM buddy as soon as I arrive on campus, and we quickly bonded through all the activities. I also had a chance to meet other incredible people whom I traveled throughout Europe during the year. The university staffs are also always active in helping make sure that all the international students make the most out of their time here. They are very reliable and responsive.

Germany is a beautiful country that sits on a strategic location. It is easy to visit other countries in Europe. During my time here, I had a chance to visit over 17 cities across six countries both alone and with other remarkable companions. Immersing in different cultures and meeting new people allow me to understand the world from a new perspective and a chance to reflect on myself. In each country, there are always new things to see and learn. I especially love all the beautiful sites and stunning architecture.

Also, I am grateful to be granted accommodation support from the Ekkehard foundation. My stay at M2 has been more than wonderful. The apartment is very conveniently located from the university and downtown. Neighbors and flatmates are extremely nice and helpful. We cooked together, shared stories, and learned so much from each other.

Lastly, I would like to thank every staff for all the support thus far. My Mannheim experience would not be complete without all of you. I hope this testimonial inspires/confirms other international students who seek to come to and study at the University of Mannheim. You surely will enjoy!
